Blue Ribbon Recipe Thursday..Honey Mustard Pork Burgers

2 lbs. ground pork

40 saltine crackers crushed

1/2 cup Digon mustard

1/4 cup honey

2 tablesponns lemon juice

1. Combine ground pork, crushed crackers, mustard honey, and lemon juice in a large bowl. Form into 8 patties.

2. Grill on medium heat, turing once, until juces run clear, about 12 minutes. Makes 8 burgers.

Angels Camp, Calif. 1/23/2011– The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee board and staff are busy planning the 2011 Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee, May 19-22, “Pirates of the Carrots & Beans”. The Fair has received its 2011 allocation from the State of California. However, Governor Jerry Brown is currently exploring the possibility of cutting future fair funding.

The Frog Jump Committee at the Calaveras County Fair is looking for volunteers to carry on the tradition at the 2010 Frog Jump. As a volunteer you will be assisting the Committee with the jump, from taking measurements to handling the paperwork. In addition we are also looking for permanent members of the Committee. The Committee meets monthly and plans and facilitates the Jump and other promotional activities.

The Calaveras County Fair will be holding pre-fair voluntary weigh-ins for sheep and goats, March 13, 9 – 11 a.m.. The cost is $10. The rate of gain competition is sponsored by Spence Ranch Feed & Supply.

Exhibitor camping in the airstrip is now on sale. The cost is $80 and includes one parking pass. The spots can be purcahsed at the fairground’s administration office, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00p.m.
